Common questions

Which file formats can Videre open?

Images: JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg), PNG, HEIC, GIF, TIFF (.tif, .tiff), BMP and WebP. Videos: MP4, QuickTime (.mov) and M4V. If a file in one of these formats won't open, email me — ideally with the file attached.

How do I browse the rest of a folder?

Open any photo or video and Videre lists the other supported files from the same folder in the sidebar, so you can step through them without opening each one. Switch to the gallery view in the toolbar to see the whole folder as thumbnails.

Can I change how Videre looks?

Yes. Besides Light and Dark, Videre comes with colored themes — Grey, Rose, Peach, Butter, Mint, Sky and Lavender — so you can give the window a more personal touch.

Does Videre upload or change my files?

No. Videre runs sandboxed, only reads the files you open, and nothing leaves your Mac. Details are in the privacy policy.

I'd like a refund.

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by Videre. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com with the Apple Account you purchased with.
