Refrakt is a puzzle game for iPhone developed by Christoph Weidinger in Austria.
Refrakt has no user accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics, and no server of its own. It never connects to a service run by the developer, because there isn't one. Your progress stays on your iPhone, and the developer receives no personal data about you and no way to identify you. The only outside party involved is Apple, which handles the in-app purchase, exactly as it does for any App Store app.
Your game progress
- Solved levels, stars, which element introductions you have seen, and whether you have finished the intro tour are stored in Refrakt's own storage on your device.
- None of it is sent to the developer, and this version of Refrakt does not sync it to iCloud or to any other service — it exists only on the device you play on.
- Deleting Refrakt removes that data from your device. The Full Spectrum purchase is tied to your Apple Account rather than to the saved game, so it can be restored afterwards.
Purchases
- Refrakt offers a single non-consumable in-app purchase, Full Spectrum, which unlocks chapters 3–8. Chapters 1–2 are free.
- The purchase is processed by Apple through StoreKit. Refrakt asks iOS whether the product has been bought and unlocks the chapters accordingly; it never sees your name, your payment details, or your Apple Account.
- Apple's handling of the transaction is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Full Spectrum supports Family Sharing, so members of your family group can use it under Apple's rules.
What Refrakt does not do
- No advertising and no ad SDKs, so no advertising identifier (IDFA) and no tracking permission prompt.
- No analytics, crash reporting, or usage measurement of any kind.
- No accounts, no email collection, no leaderboards, no social features.
- No access to your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or location.
- No data is shared with or sold to third parties, because none is collected.
Children
Refrakt is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from anyone, children included. There is no chat, no user-generated content, and no advertising. The only purchase is the one described above, protected by Apple's own purchase controls — Screen Time can restrict or disable in-app purchases entirely.
Where your data is processed
Your game data never leaves your iPhone, so there is no transfer to the developer or to any country. Purchase data is processed by Apple under its own policy.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have rights of access, correction, deletion, and objection regarding personal data held about you. Because Refrakt holds no personal data about you and cannot identify you, there is nothing to retrieve or erase on the developer's side — deleting the app removes everything the game stored. For anything related to your purchase, contact Apple Support. You may also contact the developer at any time with a question, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority (in Austria, the Datenschutzbehörde).
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new “last updated” date.
