Privacy Policy

Savora is a recipe manager for iPhone, iPad and Mac developed by Christoph Weidinger.

Savora does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. There are no user accounts, no sign-in, and no analytics, advertising, or tracking technologies of any kind. There is no Savora server: your recipes stay on your device and in your own iCloud account, and no data is ever sent to the developer.

Your recipes

• Recipes, categories, photos, and app settings are stored on your device.
• If iCloud is enabled, this data is also synced through your own private iCloud account so that it stays up to date across your Apple devices. It is stored in your personal iCloud storage under your Apple Account — not on any server belonging to Savora or its developer, who has no access to it at any point.
• iCloud syncing is provided by Apple and covered by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can turn syncing off at any time in your device's system settings, under your name › iCloud.
• Deleting recipes in the app removes them from your device and from iCloud. Deleting the app removes the data stored on that device; any copy in iCloud can be removed in your device's iCloud settings.

Importing recipes from a website

• When you paste a link, Savora requests that page directly from the website you chose, the same way a web browser would, in order to read the recipe.
• Only the address you provide is requested. No identifying information about you or your device is added to the request, and the request is not routed through any server operated by the developer.
• The website you are importing from may log the request in its own server logs, under its own privacy policy.

Scanning a printed recipe

• Camera and photo access is used only when you start a scan, to capture the recipe page you point at.
• Text recognition and structuring run on your device using Apple's built-in on-device frameworks. Scanned images and the resulting text are not uploaded anywhere.
• You can revoke camera or photo access at any time in your device's system settings.

Purchases and subscriptions

• Savora Pro is available as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-time purchase that unlocks it permanently.
• All purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Savora never sees or stores your payment information.
• Savora only learns from Apple whether an active purchase or subscription exists on your Apple Account. It does not receive your name, your Apple Account details, or any payment information.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and can be managed or cancelled at any time in your Apple Account subscription settings. The one-time purchase never expires and does not renew.
• Any data related to your purchase is processed by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy.

Children

Savora is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new “last updated” date.
